The cashew tree originates from Amazonian Brazil, where the fruit is traditionally used to make everything from jam and juice to sweets and alcohol. Cashews first ventured abroad when Portuguese sailors took the tree to India in 1560. Since then it has flourished in tropical climates globally and can be found growing in regions across South-East Asia and Africa.
Cashew nuts are in fact the seed of the cashew apple, they grow inside of a shell know as the drupe. A versatile plant, the shells are also used to make paints, lubricants and waterproofing.
At Origin Kitchen, we champion the natural characteristics of real plant-based ingredients.
Cashews are creamy by nature, that's why our process is so simple. No lab coats required, we just steam and blend to make our ultra-creamy base. That means no gums, fillers or stabilisers. Just the nutural genius of cashews.
